“…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:20a
Bill recently had the opportunity to teach for three days all the Bible classes that juniors at Charlotte Christian School were taking. They had been studying the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul. The teacher thought it would be good to have a more contemporary real live missionary come in and share what God continues to do today as the Apostle Paul did years ago. I was so thankful for that invitation. Wow, what a great time it was! To challenge the next generation to consider cross-cultural missions as a viable option for their lives was such a blessing!
“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Mathew 28:20b
The challenge before this next generation is great as they seek to make decisions for their future. How wonderful to affirm that the Lord will be with them. This truth greatly expels their fear as they face the various life challenging contexts that they will address in the future.
Other ministry opportunities:
West Virginia: Based in Parkersburg, Grace and Bill shared the Word of God and their story of God’s work in Ethiopia at the Southern Ohio and North West Virginia Mission Festival. Great to see the participation of numbers of churches for this celebration of what God is doing around the world.
South Carolina: Bill had the privilege to be the keynote speaker in Rock Hill, SC for the mission conference at Hope Fellowship Church. Grace and Bill took Bill’s dad. He pastored this church back in the early 50s before going to Ethiopia in 1954. What a beautiful recognition that was!
Charlotte, NC Grace has been able to share her life and her love for the Lord Jesus through an unusual tool…teaching how to make sour dough bread. There has been great interest in this and Grace loves it…and I love the bread!!!
So thankful for our Life Group at our home church, Calvary Church of Charlotte. They have prayed for us for many years as we served in Ethiopia. Bill has been able to teach that class and share the power of the gospel.
Connecting with the Ethiopia and Eritrean community here in Charlotte. Pray for the wonderful opportunities to connect with them. They love to hear us speak their language, Amharic.
On a personal note…
We have three of our granddaughters with us that has brought much joy and happiness. All three are Drew and Janna’s girls who grew up in South Africa.
Kaiden is a senior at Davidson College. She just arrived back from study abroad in Geneva, Switzerland and is now finishing up the summer interning in Washington DC.
Kirisi, the second one, is finishing up at Wheaton College near Chicago and heading into nursing school.
Kaia is a sophomore at Liberty University playing on their field hockey team. She is staying with us for the summer. Kaia stays busy managing her social media businesses.
We trust this will be a great summer for you. Know that we love you and pray for you. So grateful that God has brought you into our lives.
In Him, with Him for Him!
