Ethiopia, coffee and the gospel

This is the first year in many that I personally was not able to go to Ethiopia to minister at the annual Bible conference in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia with thousands upon thousands attending. This past week our son, Drew, was able to be there flying up from Cape Town, South Africa.

Drew was the representative of the Harding family to relay the news that my father, Bill Harding III, had died on January 2 and graduated to heaven. Drew said it was very emotional for all as Dad, many years ago, laid the groundwork of the gospel in this area of Ethiopia which is now flourishing in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The reason I could not go this year, is that tomorrow, Monday, February 23, I have complete knee replacement surgery on my left knee.

As you can imagine, this multitude of Ethiopians were stunned and had a hard time wrapping their minds around such a thing. They have never heard of that procedure. The church leaders asked the tens of thousands to pray for Mr. Bill.  The multitude sitting on the ground, turned and faced the direction of USA with outstretched  arms and began to pray out-loud to the Great Physician, the Lord Jesus Christ, to superintend this operation and give healing, a quick rehab and recovery.  I was in tears hearing this from Drew.

PRAYER AND PRAISE

When you wake up to have a hot cup of coffee, maybe not Yirgacheffe coffee you see above,  would you pray for my knee replacement surgery and quick healing.

Pray for comfort in the passing of our daughter-in-law Margaret’s father, David Hamilton Sr. married to our youngest son, Kyle. He peacefully passed away to heaven on February 16. The final enemy is a hard one with much sadness but Christ is the victor!

Continue to pray for the expansion on the church in Ethiopia and praise God for the great hunger for the Word of God.

Psalm 95 has been so meaningful these past weeks.

“Oh come let us sing to the LORD;
us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise!
For the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods.”

Sending this with gratitude, love and a greater
sense of God’s presence and power.

May it be yours as well.
