Bill’s total knee replacement update.
Now one month since the surgery, Bill is able to get around without the help of a walker and cane. The pain in the first four days was brutal. They had to put him on morphine and oxycodone, later on Tylenol and celebrex. Physical therapy has been in our home. Later, it will be outsourced. So many people have rallied in prayer and family and friends have helped in so many ways. So, so thankful to all.
This as just the beginning of our medical saga, Bill got a UTI. Bill had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital. He was shaking uncontrollably and found that he was septic. The infection was in the blood, the kidneys and the bladder. Finally after finding the bacteria from a culture, they were able to treat with the correct antibiotic. To complicate things, Bill has 5 kidney stones in the bladder.
The photo above is leaving the hospital. We got home and still had issues to deal with. Wow, what a challenge! Trusting the Great Physician each day for healing and relief.
On top of this, Grace had two cancer spots on her left cheek right below the eye removed yesterday. One was a melanoma and the other basil cell. She had surgery in Greenville, SC by an ocular plastic surgeon. To me, she looked like she was in a prize fight and lost. Her face all swollen and black and blue. Scary!
This has been a perfect storm for us to navigate with the Lord’s help with much prayer and the help of our church community and family. Please continue to pray for us as we seek healing in this season and getting back to normal.
We can’t say enough about how our children have rallied to come a long side in our time of need.
And man do we have amazing friends who have covered us in prayer! And we know that some of you who are just learning of this will hold us up in prayer to the end of this ordeal.
