URGENT: Please pray for ETHIOPIA.

There has recently been complex political unrest leading to war in northern Ethiopia. During times like these, our hope, peace and purpose remains in the person and work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace and I have lived through times of war and conflict in our mission in Ethiopia and we see that the innocent children take much of the brunt of it. So, so sad.! Please pray for PEACE in our beloved Ethiopia.

Eighty-nine graduated from the Harding Memorial Bible School in rural, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia where we lived and served for years.

Despite the context of political turbulence in Ethiopia, we are thrilled to see how God continues bring a people to Himself.  Many are now being trained in the Word of God and being sent out to the nations. Thanks for praying for this ongoing ministry. Rejoice with us!

SIM ETHIOPIA and the SIM related churches known as EKHC, Ethiopia Kale Heywet Church, Word of Life, are in preparation of having grand celebrations for this100th anniversary.

On December 26 1927, the first SIM missionaries arrived in Addis Ababa. The work they began together, with devoted local believers and empowered by the Holy Spirit, has flourished over the past century. Today the fruit of that ministry can be seen in the many gospel-centered churches and faithful disciples of Christ throughout Ethiopia.

Pictured above with Bill is Dr. Semeon Mulatu, the General Secretary of the the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church. Bill recently took him to the Billy Graham Library here in Charlotte. There are now over 12.5 million congregants and over 12 thousand local churches and many preaching points! It is the largest evangelical denomination in the country! So, so much to celebrate in the faithfulness of our Lord Jesus who has brought those living and dying without Him to now being part of God's family for eternity!

We trust you have had a wonderful summer. Now that autumn is settling in, we continue to thank the Lord for each of you in your partnership in the gospel. Thank you for investing in our lives and ministry through your love, prayers and financial support.  To be a part of SIM whose slogan is "from anywhere to everywhere" is an honor. We have been motivated by Habakkuk 2:14: "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."

That continues to be our vision.

We send this to you with a great sense of gratitude to the Lord and to you.
